About Bodegas Yaiza
Yaiza is Lanzarote's most recognisable wine, famous for its distinctive blue bottles. Produced by Bodegas Vega de Yuco — established in 1997 in the valley between Masdache and Montaña Blanca — Yaiza wines are a symbol of modern Lanzarote winemaking. Winemaker Tomas Mesa, from a well-known family of winemakers in Tenerife, leads production using a blend of traditional methods and modern technology.
The iconic blue bottle was introduced in the early 2000s and quickly became the most recognised wine souvenir from Lanzarote. The whites and rosé come in the famous blue glass. For the premium range, Gara — the big brother of Yaiza — uses a higher grade of grape and comes in a stunning smoked black glass bottle that blends into the recognisable blue at the top.
